Vitality Yoga
These classes are especially designed for cancer patients and survivors. They address the emotional and physical needs that emerged with cancer and traditional medicine therapies. They use an integrative approach as well as mindful gentle movement, breathing techniques, and restorative postures. These lessons may be offered on the mat with the use of props, or as Chair Yoga.

Calm and Alert
Both for the beginner and experienced yogi. This class starts with some gentle movement and progressively moves into a series of more static and long held postures, thus favoring a meditative state and deep tissue muscular engagement.

This program centers on functional movement, balance, strength, breathing , and somatic inquiry for seniors, both beginners and experienced in the practice. These lessons may be offered “on the mat” with the use of props or as Chair Yoga

First Steps into Mindfulness
This program is designed to provide an introduction to mindfulness and mindfulness-based practices such as mindful eating, sitting, walking meditation, mindful movement, and communication, that can be then integrated in one’s everyday life. Scientific research has been showing that regular mindfulness practices promote self-care, and effectively help in coping with the stresses of daily living, chronic pain, anxiety, and life transitions.

These sessions will guide you in daily mindfulness informal practices, and in the use of formal meditation of different time duration, and specifically tailored to your individual and evolving needs.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is an experiential program created by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. in 1979 at UMass Medical Center. The program provides participants with intensive and structured training in mindfulness meditation and movement practices, that they can then integrate in their own daily life. MBSR is an opportunity for self-care: it is not an alternative to medicine or any form of therapy, and it can be used both on its own and as a complement to traditional approaches.

Mindfulness Based Creative Expression
This 4 week training provides participants with the opportunity to foster self-expression through a series of foundational mindfulness meditation practices. This program can be an opportunity for both artists and non-artists to begin to experience intuitive art making as a meditative, self-reflective practice and therefore explore its potential for the cultivation of lasting sense of wellbeing, joy and moment to moment awareness. Throughout this program you will be invited to lean in, and discover the meditator or the artist, or both, in you!

Looking at art mindfully
An interactive presentation on how to perceive works of art and photography with a meditative and reflective approach that will helps us understand, experience fully what we see and get some glimpses into our inner selves.

Mindful Looking
A visit to a local museum / virtual tour to take a slow look at some of the works on display. This session starts with a few guidelines on contemplative looking followed by a series of 10 minute observation of individual pieces. Finally, we gather our thoughts and share experiences.

Introduction to Mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Learn about mindfulness, meditation, and the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program created in 1979. Because of the experiential nature of these practices, this program offers some brief sessions of focused awareness and body awareness, thus making the presentation more interactive and engaging. The formal and informal practices covered in this program will help shed light onto the classic 8-week MBSR course, as well as explain how mindfulness and meditation can be integrated in one’s everyday life to better cope with the stresses of daily living, chronic pain, anxiety, life transitions.

Everyday Mindful Creative Expression
This 2-3 hour workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore mindfulness by means of creative expression. Participants will directly engage in visual and writing practices to practice self-care and unlock their inner energy. By doing so, they will also begin to establish the foundations for a daily, creative practice that helps them deepen moment to moment awareness and therefore better cope with stress, grief and physical pain.

The Five Elements: Bringing Art and Yoga Together
This interdisciplinary multiple day workshop centers on the five elements of Hatha Yoga (Earth, Fire, Water, Space, Air). A 20’-30’ of yoga practice at the beginning of each class session will set the stage for mental clarity, and moment to moment awareness. The type of practice based on one specific element each session will introduce students to the theme and art practice of the day. No prior experience in Yoga and Art needed.

Pranayama: breathe into your life
This workshop trains participants in pranayama breathing techniques and focused awareness meditation. Awareness of breath, of breathing patterns, as well as practices that modify them are crucial to achieve a state of mental clarity, muscular tension relief, stress reduction, as well as chronic pain management.
